Our DVR player is on the fritz. I'm hoping it's just "tired" and is working again tomorrow. Watching live TV stinks! And I need to stay up to put jeans in the dryer and can't find anything live to watch. Plus I dont' want to lose all of the stuff we already have recorded. We do have a spare DVR player they sent us in error, but don't want to use unless we have to. I think Parker's manic remote fingers may have fried it. He's always clicking and forwarding thru stuff really fast and non-stop. It's freaked out a couple other times though, so crossing my fingers.
Emma wore her clip-on Easter egg earrings to bed tonight that she got from Roofs. Wanted to get a picture of her with them on, but of course her hair was covering them up! She knew they were earrings and sat still while I put them on. She also had to put on all the rings (she knew there were four, so when I only had 3 we had to look for the other one) and her egg necklace. She's been keeping all of her necklaces in her pink butterfly purse she got at Easter. Cow purse holds the trains and care bears... she has a system. Usually she freaks out if you touch her ears or move her hair by her ears. She of course stalled on the bedtime thing and Parker couldn't get in bed fast enough.
Parker painted another picture all by himself, didn't even have to remind him how it worked. Also got him to trace some numbers in an activity book, which he's never done before. Still can't tell though if he's right or left-handed he switches all the time and doesn't really look comfortable either way. That was the one thing he was behind in at his checkup was that he doesn't draw stick people. Oh well, he can count to 200 so give him a break :-)
Rainy/windy day here today. Well off to watch...gasp....live TV and the commercials!

Kids Say the Darndest Things
"I feel trapped" Parker when we tried to put on his clip-on tie at Easter.
"Rumble!" Emma when we hit the grooves before stop signs.
"Put on your sell beat Mom" Parker said when we got in the van Sunday.
"I want hotty dogs for supper" Emma said for supper tonight and she also loves poppycorn!
"I want to wear my cheep cheep" Parker calls his Easter chick necklace he made at daycare.
"Bop Bop Bop" Emma said that's the sound a bunny makes.

Weekend Update
We had a busy weekend with Easter. Had hoped to have an egg hunt at home on Saturday, but the weather didn't cooperate. That's ok though, because they did 2 hunts on Sunday! Parker spent quite a bit of time painting and coloring this weekend. All I have to say is the Color Wonder stuff by Crayola rocks!! He has never really been into art, he's far more a number, letters, computer type kid. At Lauri's (their sitter) this week, they painted suncatchers, colored cups and made shrinky dink necklaces and he loves every minute of it. Emma did a great job on coloring her cup too!
On Sunday, after church and Sunday School, we traveled the hour and a half to Steve's side for noon meal and then we eat again at 6 at my side. We grew up in the same town, so it makes for busy holidays, but at least the kids get to see both sides. Emma pretty much lived on jelly beans on Sunday. Parker has turned into a great eater and has been cleaning his plate, so we don't have as many food battles as before. He's still pretty picky, but will try at least a bite or two of something new. Emma has discovered broccoli and loves it. Both of them far prefer veggies to fruits.
Anyway, back to Easter. At Steve's side we did the annual Easter Egg Treasure Hunt. The Easter Bunny (Grandpa) writes clues and leaves them in eggs all over and at the end there is a basket of goodies. The kids really got into it. A couple of time the bunny left them jelly beans along the way and Parker dumped them on the ground and said, "Emma you eat those" and off he was to the next clue with his older cousin Laura.
At our house the competition is a little stiffer because there are a number of little cousins for Parker and Emma to compete with. At least 100 eggs were hidden around with candy in them. Each kid came out with a basket full of candy and eggs. We tried to get some decent pics, but all the kids were running around so fast. People are competitive in my family!!
The kids were getting tired. Parker got his pj's on and said "I look tired, let's go." They fought a bit on the way home and didn't sleep the best last night. It always takes them a day to recoop after holidays. At least we are out of the hauling bottles, food, etc stage. Lauri said the kids weren't crabby today and the weather was warm so they got to play outside a lot today.
Since Parker doesn't nap, he was ready for bed at 7:30 tonight, worn out from all the exercise today. He's informed us that he is a big boy now and doesn't need a cup at night anymore. Glad he has decided that, as we have been putting off taking that away, since sister still gets a cup at bedtime. He should be getting drier at night then I'd think. He's such a solid sleeper, he didn't even her Emma screaming her head off at midnight.
It's like the kids know that daylight savings time is coming, because they have started waking up earlier and earlier, so they usually end up adjusting quite well.
I'm trying to post some pics from the last few days, but having problems. Keep checking back:-)

Hello!!
It seems like everyone is blogging anymore, so thought I'd give it a try. I don't know how to do too many of the cool tricks or graphic stuff yet, but I did manage to post a couple pics of the kids "taking" a mess as Emma calls it. The kids are in bed. Neither wanted to go to bed tonight. Emma just wanted to keep on playing and Parker just got over tired and got very upset. Usually he's the easy one to put to bed. Planning to get all of the Easter goodies ready tomorrow for the kids. Emma is getting a Thomas the Tank Engine book for her Leap Pad (she kept using her brothers) and a Duncan train car. Parker is getting a Diesel 10 train car and a Scooby Doo bubble blower. Daddy was very proud of the fact that he helped pick out bubble blower and the book. I had to get them a little something too, so I stopped tonight and picked out the train cars. They both love to play trains and have amassed quite a collection. Getting this blog setup took longer than I expected, so no scrapbooking tonight. Will probably just veg out and watch some poker on TV - can't get enought of that! I'm getting the laundry caught up tonight too, as Steve is going to finish up the laundry room floor tomorrow. I'm hoping to get some cards made tomorrow to take back to my mil's craft shop on Sunday. Also working on some altered comp book and mini albums. She has a cute shop in Southwest Iowa that sells a variety of items. www.twigscrafts.com Not to leave out my side of the family :-), they also have a website devoted to their horse business. www.metc.net/~rsbeymer . The kids just love grandma and grandpa's horses!
